Start or expand regular monthly giving of amounts large or small to groups on the front lines of our democracy including ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, Freedom From Religion Foundation, Secular Coalition for America,
Show up to a rally.
"Like" on Facebook local groups like Albany Democratic Club, Indivisible Berkeley, Together We Will Albany/Berkeley, Albany Community Action to stay up on actions in our area including protests, rallies, important items on city agendas, candidate events, postcard writing and phone banking for candidates, etc.
Write a letter to the editor of a newspaper including Albany Patch, East Bay Times (includes Albany Journal).
Join a politically themed book club or read a relevant book.
Register people to vote.
Check if a high school near you is pre-registering to vote 16-yr-olds in California and registering 18-yr-olds
Get involved at the county level - Alameda County Democratic Party.
Stay informed and support investigative journalism by subscribing to the digital edition of a newspaper like the Washington Post, New York Times , East Bay Times, or SF Chronicle.
"Like" these and other newspapers on FaceBook to get their stories in your feed, even newspapers in red districts to get a sense of what issues are there. Albany/El Cerrito/Kensington Journal, East Bay Times, SFGate (Chronicle), NY Times, Washington Post.
Explore ways to talk to your kids about what is going on in the world and how they can get involved.
At school, join or start a club and make sure your high school in California is pre-registering to vote 16-yr-olds and registering 18-yr-olds
Fly the flag next to a Democratic Donkey (Republicans don't own patriotism)
Volunteer for our Club's booth at the Solano Stroll in early September.

Invite your friends to ADC meetings the 3rd Thursday of the month.
Attend and consider speaking at an Albany city council meeting or a meting of Albany's committees and commissions. Meeting agendas are posted in advance.
Look for openings on Albany committees and commissions and apply.
Become a leader in your neighborhood by doing the Albany CERT training.
Take a minute to brush up on your knowledge of the branches of government.
